Police Probe House Fire Cause

Police have taken over the investigation into a fire at an abandoned house in Vernon’s Okanagan Landing Tuesday morning.

Vernon Fire-Rescue acting chief David Lind says the structure in the 6900 block of Cummings Road sustained extensive damage.

RCMP have assumed control of the cause, due to it being treated as suspicious.

Constable Kelly Brett says their investigation is ongoing, and police are waiting for the fire investigator’s report before making any further comment.
