Bank Robber Sentenced

A Vernon bank robbery suspect has admitted to his crime — and been sentenced.

26 year old Cody Douglas Lawrence entered a guilty plea to robbery in provincial court Thursday.

He robbed the Royal Bank in the Polson Mall on July 10th, and was arrested later that night by police.

Lawrence was given a 729 day jail sentence, followed by one year probation, and ordered to pay restitution of $1,050.

He was also given a lifetime firearms ban.
