Winter Carnival Needs Help
Plans are well underway for the 2018 Vernon Winter Carnival.
It runs from February 2 to 11.
Carnival President Deb White says about 89 events are planned for it.
“So, in order to pull something like that off we need volunteers to help us out. We’ve got our board of directors of fifteen, but we need some people in the office. We need people for events. we need either one day volunteers or long term volunteers. We need it all.”
Anyone interested can email the carnival at info@vernonwintercarnival.com.
“We need people in the office, which is great to help on ticket sales or just promote carnival. We need people for events like Jopo House Luncheon, family day in the park. There’s lots of events we need help with.”
A number of new events are planned and there are about 45 that are free.
The theme is Carnival in Wonderland.
“So, a lot of people are taking many different spins on it. So, you can do carnival, like with Alice in Wonderland or you can take it that it was Winter Wonderland.”
Details of the events are expected to be announced early next week.
