Tech Talks To Province
Members of the Okanagan’s tech industry have given their wish list to BC’s Minister of Jobs, Trades and Technology.
Bruce Ralston sat down with sector leaders in Kelowna Friday to discuss how to keep the growth moving forward
“The discussion focused on the factors affecting the growth of the technology sector in the Okanagan and included suggestions about what the industry and all levels of government can do to support growth for tech and tech-enabled companies at the startup and growth stage,” says a release from Accelerate Okanagan, which organized the roundtable event.
“Participants were companies operating in agri-tech, life sciences, digital and animation space, and included startups and growth-stage companies, companies that are selling locally and globally, and companies that have major partnerships with some of the top global brands.”
The latest estimates (from 2015) show there are 630 tech businesses in the Okanagan, employing over 76-hundred people, and creating annual revenues of 1.3 billion dollars.
