Water Service Extension Considered To Outback Resort

Oct 19, 2017 | 11:48 AM

Staff with the Regional District of North Okanagan are being directed to see what the cost is of extending water services as far as the Outback Resort.

Board Chair Bob Fleming says the feasibility of such a move through the Delcliffe water system isn’t clear

“Delcliffe water is run by Greater Vernon Water now and it has some issues around just meeting quality standards and so on. The nature of the service that was taken over there.”

Extending the water line could also benefit fire protection in the area.

Fleming says a proposal a couple of years ago for an extension was too expensive for residents.

” A petition was done along Peters Road and Smith Road. Those are two fairly close areas and that petition failed.”

Greater Vernon Water is being asked for more information
