Group Ponders Future Leadership

The Funtastic Sports Society has filled out its board of directors.

President Akbal Mund says they welcomed a 12th member at their meeting this week.

“Greg Wutkze was appointed as part of the board. He works at Kal Tire. He has great background in I-T work, so he’ll be able to help us with the web site and all that kind of stuff.”

Mund says they will discuss what to do with their vacant executive director’s position at their next meeting in November.

The society’s former ED Tony Pallas resigned last month.

“We talked about the executive director’s position, and where we want to move forward. We have four new board members so everybody was asked to come back with answers on Nov. 7th, on which way we want to go. That’s our next meeting,” Mund tells Kiss FM.

The board will also discuss its leader at its next meeting.

Mund — who is also Vernon’s mayor — agreed to serve as the interim president after their AGM last month after no one else stepped forward.

The non profit group organizes the annual Funtastic sports and music event on the Canada Day weekend.
