Oct 12, 2017 | 9:00 AM

Update: 9 am Oct 12:

Kelowna RCMP now say they are treating the discovery of a body in an orchard yesterday as a homicide.

Police were called to the spot in the 2100 block of Cooper Road just before 11 o’clock Wednesday morning.

The body of a woman had been found by someone passing through the area.

RCMP say the woman was believed to be between 25 and 35 years old.

There’s no indication how long the body had been there or how she died.

Corporal Jesse O’Donaghey says the woman has not yet been positively identified and police do not believe that she was the victim of a random attack.

Homicide investigators along with specialized forensic investigators, are working very closely with the BC Coroners Service on the case.
