55 Plus BC Games Officials Adding Up The Numbers

The 55 Plus BC Games ended a month ago in Vernon — but organizers are still putting the final touches on the event.

President Wee Yee says they held a wrap-up meeting this week, and are going through the audit process.

“Right now, we’re working on the usual receivables and payables and we’re trying to clear that up by the end of October. Then we need to go through the audit process, and the directors are writing their final reports,” says Yee.

Yee says they should have that process done by November.

“And then after that, we’ll have a better idea on what there may be for a legacy fund, and give us a chance to also tabulate all the other legacy components.”

Yee says that includes the new bocce courts in Polson Park, and track and field equipment at the Athletics Park.

The Games featured 36-hundred participants in 27 sports in Vernon, Coldstream, Spallumcheen and Armstrong.
