Moose Meat Thieves Also Take Truck

Oct 9, 2017 | 7:30 AM

An unfortunate story making it’s rounds this Thanksgiving weekend is about a Kelowna family who had their truck stolen from a hotel in Hinton, Alberta,  however the story is with the truck’s cargo.
Inside the truck was about a year’s supply of moose meat. The 1300 lbs. of moose meat would have looked after their family and two others for the winter.

The packaged moose meat was in boxes in the bed of the truck that had a canopy on it.

The family also was left without a ride home.  The area they are in does not have any vehicles for rent and now have to face a 13 hour bus trip home.

They believe the moose meat is worth up to $16,000, but added it is hard to say because you supposedly cannot sell wild game in Canada.

The stolen truck is burgundy Ford F350 with Valley Lift Truck logo on both sides of the back passenger windows and a canopy.

The license plate number is KN5672. If seen please report to your local RCMP detachment.
