Update: Power Restored To 2400 Homes

Update 12:33 pm:

Power back on at 12:29 pm. Cause was bird contacting a Hydro wire.

Power is out for several thousand customers in the Vernon area.

BC Hydro says about 24-hundred hook-ups are impacted, with Alexis Park one part of the impacted areas.

The cause is listed as a bird contacting a wire, believed to be at a sub station.

Jenn Walker Larson from Hydro says crews are on their way to a site, and they should know more in about a half hour.

The power went out just after 11:30 am, with the areas listed as west of Barker Road, and north of 14th Avenue.
