What was thought to be a small out of control fire just south of the Lumby side of Mabel Lake is no longer an issue.
Lumby Fire Chief Tony Clayton says the fire started last evening when wind knocked down a power line in the 2300 block of Mabel Lake Road.
The fire was out of Lumby’s jurisdiction but the Wildfire Service asked them to check it out.
“Local civilians, residents pretty much had her down pat when we got there.”
