A sentencing hearing is underway in BC Supreme Court in Vernon for a convicted killer.
58 year old Howard Everett Krewson was found guilty by a jury last September of the second degree murder of his girlfriend Linda Stewart.
He shot Stewart after an argument at their Lumby area home on Trinity Valley Road in June 2014, and also shot himself in the face in an attempted suicide.
During his trial, Krewson claimed to have no memory of killing Stewart who was a teacher.
His lawyer argued he was too drunk and stoned to form an intent to kill his girlfriend, which the jury rejected.
The Crown and defence have been making their recommendations before Justice Frank Cole today.
The minimum penalty is a life sentence, with no chance for parole for 10 years.
