(June 20, 1930 – August 15, 2020) 

After a courageous battle with cancer, Vernon Phillips peacefully left us. He is survived and mourned by his wife of 65 years, Gert Phillips of Vernon, BC; Vern (Nancy) of Nanaimo; Nancy (Tyler) of Vernon; David (Julie) of Fruitvale; and Malcolm (Michela) of Burnaby. Missed by grandchildren; Jenna (Tyler); Drew (Paige); Katie (Callum); Nick; Parker (Sara); Conner and Sara. Great grandchildren, Avery and Hudson.

Vern worked for many years with the BC Government in Health Care. After retirement he volunteered with many organizations within the Vernon community.

Vern was very well cared for by the Palliative Team from Interior Health who we give our heartfelt thanks to each and everyone. Our thanks also to North Okanagan Hospice Society that cared for Vern in the final days.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the North Okanagan Hospice Society in Vern’s memory is appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future.
