Shirley enjoyed bingo, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, reading, fishing, and camping. She had a particular love for popcorn, and fish and chips. Shirley found solace in listening to live country music and was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, never missing a game. She was proud to have once caught a 40-pound salmon all by herself.
Nothing brought her more joy than sharing laughter and silly stories about the past. Shirley spent her free time indulging in her favorite TV shows, such as Judge Judy, Cops, and her daytime soap operas.
In her early years, Shirley worked at a box factory where she met George, her future husband and father of her children. They were happily married for 66 years, sharing a lifetime of cherished memories. Shirley leaves behind a legacy through her children: Rick (2 daughters), Sandy (2 sons, 2 daughters), Ken, and Keith (2 daughters), as well as 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 of her 4 sisters.
Those who knew Shirley will always remember her graceful presence and the way her stories could enchant anyone who listened, often with a touch of her infectious laughter. Her warmth and charm made her truly special, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
