Ralph is survived by Ellie (Eleanor) McNeill, his loving partner and soul mate of 33 years; a daughter Karen (Mark) of Calgary, brother Gerry (Fran) of Moose Jaw; grandsons Benjamin Stewart, Bradley (LeeAnn) Jessop, Chris (Candice) Hodges; great grandchild, Alaric Jessop; step granddaughters, Meagan McCarthy, Echo (Ron) Chapman and step grandson Garth (Jacquie) McNeill, and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life.
Ralph was reunited in heaven by a son, Hal Douglas; daughter, Sandra Ellen; sisters Carol (Grant) Hall, Doris; brother, Charles and parents, Charles and Helga.
Born July 1st, 1935 in Gull Lake Union Hospital, Ralph spent his first 5 years on the Rushworth homestead, five and one quarter miles east of Verlo, SK. He saw his early childhood and teens in Gull Lake, attending school, playing sports and in the summer of 1952 leaving to begin work on the CPR as an Assistant Agent. Ralph met and married Anne Marie Helbak. They had 3 children and eventually settled in Calgary where Ralph worked for CPOG as a Junior Landsman, travelling throughout southern Alberta buying drill sites and pipeline right of ways.
Ralph met Ellie and enjoyed years of travel, adventure and eventually settled in Vernon, B.C. He liked to curl and golf and could even be found riding a horse or two. They lived in Desert Cove for many years and eventually moved into The Hamlets. Ralph was a superior organizer and loved meeting people and supporting them however he could. He was the unofficial greeter to new residents at the Hamlets.
Special thanks to Dr. Schuck for his many years of care, to the staff of The Hamlets for their support and in Ralph’s words, “… to all who have given me love, comfort and support throughout this wonderful life…. God Bless You.”
