It is with love and sadness the family of Oda Koebernick announce her passing at the age of 105.
Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 12:25 AM with family members by her side.
She was predeceased by husband Lawrence on November 18, 1994. She is survived by her children Lenard (Faye) Kobernick of Surrey; Shirley Watson of Vernon; Ben (Rita) Koebernick of Pemberton; Irene (Malcolm) Walker of Vernon and Ken Koebernick of Vernon.
Mom is also survived by her brother Wilfred (Lorraine) Hansen of Kamloops, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren along with nephews and nieces.
Mom was born in Theodore, Saskatchewan to Charley and Elena Hansen. She was the youngest of eight girls with three younger brothers being born after her.
She raised her children in Saskatchewan and Vernon. Mom and dad moved to Vernon in 1946. She baked bread and cooked on a wood fired kitchen stove.
She always found time to play outside games with her children which we will always remember. Mom looked forward to family get togethers for picnics, home cooked meals and camping. She looked forward to her birthdays with family and friends.
Mom liked playing cards and games. She embroidered, quilted and put puzzles together. She enjoyed the winters, sleigh riding with her family and close friends next door (the Edwards).
She has numerous house plants which she cared for, liked having the wild birds outside, especially hummingbirds, quail and bluebirds.
Mom was a caring and wonderful mother and our friend. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all her family and friends.
Rest in peace sweet mother of ours. Give dad a hug for us.
