Marilyn Seel, age 69, returned to her heavenly home on November 6, 2020, at Vernon Hospice House, Vernon, BC. She is survived by her husband, Charles Seel, of Vernon, BC; her son, David (and Heather) Sanborn, grandchildren, Marissa and Thomas, and her daughter, Lisa Ann, grandchildren, Kelsey, Randi, Dylan and Cole Goodman all of whom she deeply loved.
Marilyn was born on February 8, 1951, in Vancouver, BC, to parents Jim and Bernice Dutot. Marylin enjoyed working for McDonald’s in Sardis and Vernon for many years, where she met Charles and they married in 1990. She enjoyed serving people at work, as well as at church, with a lovely smile and welcoming heart. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend.
Marilyn was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in Fraternal Order of Eagles, as well as with the Crown Jewels as a ‘red hatter’ at the Halina Centre and Schubert Centre. She enjoyed games of Canasta, travelling with Charles (especially to hot springs), and having a good time with others. Her family and friends will always remember her as a wonderful, caring, servant-hearted person.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 19, at First Baptist Church Vernon. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marilyn’s life or to watch online at www.firstbaptistvernon.net. Please contact the church office to register to come or to watch the livestream.
Charles would like to thank the Vernon Palliative Care Team and Hospice House for their care of Marilyn as well as Vernon Funeral Home and the congregation of First Baptist Church for their prayers and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Vernon Hospice House or to the Hospital Chaplaincy Ministry through First Baptist Church.
