In loving memory of Mr. Kenneth Frank Martin.
Born March 28, 1931 in Canwood, SK. Passed away peacefully on April 28, 2020 in Lumby, BC. He leaves in mourning his wife of 61 years, Fern (nee Leach) Martin; his four children Elaine (Jamie Leblanc) Dyck of Lumby BC, Greg (Cindy Wakefield) Martin of Stettler, AB, Norma Ostrass of Kamloops, BC and Terry (Jim) Collins of Sylvan Lake, AB; 9 grandchildren Billy Larson of Lumby, BC, Robin and Terence Lewis of Cherryville, BC, Georgina Dyck of Lumby, BC, Jeffrey Martin of Fort McMurray, AB, Brandon Ostrass of Red Deer, AB, Melissa (nee Ostrass) Messere of Kamloops, BC, Dallas (Tara) Collins of Blackfalds, AB, Dillian Collins of Kelowna, BC and Dakota Collins of Sylvan Lake, AB; as well as 14 great grandchildren, Josiah, Dominic, Jordan, Kindra, Tysen, Tyler, Kalista, Christian, Autumn, Zoie, Tarik, Drake, Hayden and Brooklynn. Predeceased by his parents Arthur Alan Martin in 1971 and Maud (nee Colenutt) Martin in 1963 as well as his siblings Melvin, Clayton, Arnold, Helen, Louis and Alma.
Ken was born in Saskatchewan and had a variety of professions beginning with logging, commercial fishing and farming in Saskatchewan. After moving to British Columbia in 1975 he worked on a cattle ranch, did some mining and spent many years working in the logging industry. After retirement he enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
A celebration of life will be held for Ken in Lumby and Big River and his ashes will be buried in Big River. The celebrations and burial will be done at a later date when conditions improve.
