In Loving Memory of Stella Boyle
Posted 2 hours ago

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Stella Boyle, who passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 92.
Stella was born on April 23, 1934, in Rama Township, Ontario. In 1953, she headed west with her husband, Stan Shaule, and settled in Terrace, British Columbia, where they raised their family and built a life together. After many years in Terrace, Stella and her family relocated to the Shuswap/Okanagan, where she continued to enjoy the beauty of British Columbia and the company of those she loved.
Stella was known for her hardworking spirit, creativity, love of the outdoors, and enjoyed having a cup of tea with whoever dropped by. She had a passion for gardening and took great pride increating beautiful things with her hands. She especially enjoyed crafting wooden birdhouses, which she lovingly gifted to family and friends; those creations remain treasured keepsakes for many.
For more than 20 years, Stella and her husband, Richard Boyle, could often be found walking many miles collecting cans. Along the way, they met countless people, made many friends, and became familiar faces in their community. Whether they were travelling through the United States or visiting family and friends across Canada, Stella and Richard never passed up an opportunity to collect cans along the way. Their active lifestyle contributed to their longevity, helping them remain strong, independent, and engaged well into their 90s.
She leaves behind her children, Brenda (Lorne), Jack (Sharyl), Wendy (Art), and Tammy (Rob); her stepchildren, Char (Wes), Al (Carol), Stan, Dennis, Ron (Shirley), Brian (Julie), Terry, and Norine (Don); as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Stella was predeceased by her husbands, Stan Shaule and Richard Boyle, and by her siblings, Grace, Mae, June, Ollie, Stan, and Ace, her step daughters-in-law Arlene, Jan and Kim.
Stella will be remembered for her kindness, determination, creativity, and generosity. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the friendships she made, and the many lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
