March 13, 1959 – Sept 17, 2020

Gerrie lost her courageous battle with cancer on September 17, 2020.  She chose to end her life in the same way that she lived her life – on her own terms.

She leaves to mourn – her beloved husband Ray Cotton, her daughter Shannon LaFontaine, her two step children Laura and Curtis Cotton. She also leaves behind her much loved little wiener dog, Rosie.

Gerrie is survived by her mom – Jennie Middlemass, sisters Rosalie Middlemass (Harv Gilbert), Deborah (Dot) Middlemass (Graham Bell), Ruth Davies (Terry Davies) and Sandy Middlemass (Crystal Ironstand) as well as her nieces and nephews.  Gerrie was predeceased by her father Alex Middlemass, her sisters Edith Berg and Faye Bliss.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Vernon Jubilee hospital for caring for her on her final journey.

At Gerrie’s request, there will be no service, just a gathering of her immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gerrie’s name to the Vernon Cancer Clinic or the BC Cancer Society.
