It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the passing of Edward (Teddy) Royston. Teddy passed on August 17, 2024, after a prolonged illness.
He was born on April 9, 1937, to Father Edward and Mother Munina Royston. Ted was the eldest child in a family of five and he is survived by his sister Nicolette Royston. Father to a blended family of 10 children including Teddy Jr, who sadly passed on October 11, 2010, his brothers Randy, Perry and Patrick, daughters Sue and Michelle, son Bradley, daughter Tania and sons Patrick and Michael. Ted (Poppy) was also very blessed to have numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ted also leaves behind his wife and soul mate of 45 years, Mary Piper. You will forever be missed and loved by all.
Ted Royston wore many hats in his 87 years. He was a millwright, owner of a janitorial service, a salesman, the owner of a pizzeria and he built tow trucks with his good friend Wayne Parsons to name only a few. In his last position he was a care provider. In retirement he and Mary moved to Chilliwack Lake. Together with the help of family, particularly Patrick who lived on the property behind, a tar paper shack became an adorable cottage. Ted retired at 63 and creating the cottage kept him working well into his mid 70’s. When he was needing time away from working on the cottage, Ted took up gardening as a hobby which unleashed quite a talent, and he enjoyed every minute of it. His person was kind, giving, loving and he made friends wherever he ventured. He loved a good laugh, was generous to a fault and always had an abundance of stories to tell. He also loved hearing other people’s stories and enjoyed music of all types. Being Ted was an accomplishment all on its own. He was Dyslexic and had Dysgraphia and was entirely self-taught.
Signing off with a wish to all reading this, may you manage to meet that someone with whom you can take what starts as nothing but a friendship, and in time create a bond so strong it develops into a love you never imagined possible and will cherish forever and a day.
I love you, Teddy.
