Bertha Clara “Bert” Skaley (Ringheim) passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on September 20, 2020. Bert is survived by her daughters Michelle (Darren), Allison (Richard), La Dawn (Richard), her grandchildren; Brett, Lauren, Joshua (Emily), Courtney (Alex), Kierstin (Duncan), Neil (Amy), David (Carolanne), Lukas, Jonah, Joleah, Kenzii and Tristan, her great grandchildren; Rylan and Calina, Elana, Anastasia and David. Her sister Luciel (Jim), extended family and true friends (you know who you are). She was predeceased by her husband Allan, her brothers Leonard, Oliver, Ole, her twin Bobbie, and her sister Cassie.
Bert was known for her love of children, having operated a day home for 30 years in Vernon. She will always be remembered as having an abundance of energy, a sense of humour, and never turning down an opportunity to socialize or dance. It was rare that she would be found at home as she enjoyed walking, her weekly bowling games, swimming, watching her grandchildren play sports, her Tulalip bus trips with the girls, golfing, painting her home or anyone else’s, sewing anything that could be sewn, her weekly volunteer work at The Arbour, and her work at O’Keefe Ranch. When you did catch her at home she would be watching on her great grandchild, canning 125 lbs of tomatoes, baking cookies for her grandchildren or enjoying her beautiful backyard. She was an unbelievable woman. A life well lived.
A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers please donate to Easter Seals House or any children’s charity of your choice.
