April 6 1939 – January 31 2020
We are so sad to announce the sudden passing of a beloved long time Vernon resident.
Barry leaves to mourn his wife of 61 years, Lorraine. His kids, Barry (Dale), Debbie (Barry) Aeichele, Bob, Brian (Carolyn) and Lynda (Larry) Tomilin. Grandchildren, Cheryl, Jason, Danaka, Brendan (Carly), Justin, Kristyn, Ryan, Danielle (Matt) and Kailey (Kyle), Great Grandchildren, Brittany, Amanda, Danika, Taylor and newest addition Paisley. Great-Great Grandson Zayden. He also leaves a special nephew, Al (Darlene) and kids Jarred and Jennika Bobryk.
Barry was born in Vancouver and attended school there then onto Lac laHache and later in Williams Lake. He moved to Vernon with his parents in 1956.
Predeceased by his brother Billy (1949) parents Jack (1982) Dorothy (2001). He drove truck all his life, and that was where “Double Clutch” spent the majority of his time. He made so many friends. He loved the warmth and spent many years at the Cabin on Okanagan Lake in the summer, and dodged winter heading south as a Snowbird for the past several years to Yuma Arizona.
He was a member of the Army and Navy Air Force for the past 31 years. Barry liked to camping with friends and he loved travelling to Ontario to spend time with his grand children.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
