1934 – 2020
Alison “Gerry” Geraldine Barker, age 86, of Vernon, British Columbia passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020. Gerry was born June 25, 1934 in Scott, Saskatchewan to Orton and Emma Frank. Gerry grew up in North Burnaby and went to North Burnaby High School. On October 23, 1959 Gerry was married to Warren Barker. They lived in Port Moody, and in North Vancouver until 1991 when they moved to Vernon.
Gerry worked for Telus for a number of years both in Vancouver and Kelowna. She was very active for more than 40+ years with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was an active volunteer with the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Auxiliary.
Gerry had a large extended family and enjoyed spending time at family events and gatherings. Gerry will be sadly missed by her many friends and particularly by her family.
Gerry is predeceased by her husband, Warren, who passed in November 2014, and by her younger sister Isabel (Larry) in April of this year.
Gerry is survived by her three children Brent (Colleen), Christine (John), and Deena (Ryan). She is also survived by her grandchildren Tierney, Bryce, Griffin, and Hudson, great grandchild Leiah, as well as many additional family members and friends.
We would like to thank the staff and Gateby and Creekside Care Centers for all of their help and support during Gerry’s last few years.
