House Fire Displaces Family

A Vernon family will be taken care of by emergency social services after a residential fire.

Fire chief David Lind says it broke out at a home on Cardinal Road in Blue Jay subdivision this afternoon.

“The homeowner came home and found smoke in the building. Fire crews attended the scene. It was a quick knock down. It was a contents fire in one of the rooms. There is some smoke damage,” Lind tells Beach Radio News

There were no injuries, and the cause is under investigation.
