Arson Suspect To Stand Trial

Jul 5, 2018 | 5:31 PM

A North Okanagan arson suspect has been ordered to stand trial.

60 year old Colette Leneveu of Armstrong waived her right to a preliminary inquiry.

The BC Prosecution Service says she will be in BC Supreme Court July 30 to fix a trial date.

She is charged with four counts of arson in relation to several suspicious fires on Okanagan Street in Armstrong in March

Some tires were lit near a garage and back yard, and attempts were made to ignite two vehicles.

Leneveu was arrested a few days later after police were alerted to a suspicious person in the area of the fires.

Leneveu was granted bail in May, and is under strict conditions not to posses any matches, incendiary devices, or explosives.
