Tanks, Gas Companies!

Jul 4, 2018 | 3:00 PM

Gas prices have shot up in Vernon.

A number of stations are selling for $1.47.9, up 15 cents a litre from Tuesday.

Analyst Dan McTeague from GasBuddy.com predicted increases in his weekly gas price newsletter on Tuesday.

“For the week ahead, a 1 cent a litre hike is expected for Vancouver, the Lower Mainland and Victoria. For central BC, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina and Winnipeg, severely discounting over the Canada Day long weekend, will have many gas bars restoring those lost margins by (at least) 6 cents a litre.”

Pretty much all the stations in Kelowna are selling for $1.47.9.

Premier John Horgan says price gouging by gas companies, not higher taxes, is responsible for the skyrocketing prices in BC.

Gas Buddy says the average price for gas in BC today is $1.48.
