Update: Dangerous Offender Arrested

RCMP in Kelowna have taken an alleged violent offender into custody.

Russell Dale McDermid was wanted for numerous offences including sexual assault with a weapon.

After getting a tip fro the public, he was he was arrested without incident at a residence on Findlay Road Monday night.

McDermid is being held in custody, and will be in Kelowna court today.

RCMP in Kelowna have taken an alledged violent offender into custody.

Russell Dale McDermid was wanted for numerous offences incouding sexual assault with a weapon.

After getting a tip fro the public, he was he was arrested without incident at a residence on Findlay Road Monday night.

McDermid is being held in custody, and will be in Kelowna court today.
Kelowna RCMP are looking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted for a number of violent offences.

Thirty-seven-year-old Russell Dale McDermid has a number of warrants out for his arrest; including sexual assault with a weapon, uttering threats and assault causing bodily harm.

RCMP believe he is evading the police but continues to reside in the Okanagan.

McDermid is described as approximate five-foot-four, weighing 144 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who has seen McDermid or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact their local RCMP detachment.

Police say McDermid is considered dangerous and therefore should not be approached.
