Jun 4, 2018 | 11:55 AM

RCMP have a suspect in custody in connection with a hit and run accident last week.

The accident ocurred just after 2:00 pm May 30th on Highway 97 at Stickle Road.

A Blue GMC pick-up had rear ended a white Honda Civic.

The driver of the truck didn’t stop and continued to drive southbound on Highway 97,  only to run into a Ministry of Transportation Vehicle which was working on the highway at the time.

The driver of the pick-up ran off and despite a quick search of the area, police could not find him.

Yesterday, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP located the suspect on a property located in the Spallumcheen area and he was arrested without incident

The 29 year old Vernon man was to appear in court today facing potential charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while prohibited and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
