Clock Ticking For Vernon Cannabis Shops

Time is running out for cannabis shops in Vernon that haven’t followed the city’s rules.

The city’s deadline for registering a covenant on the title of their property is 4:30 Friday afternoon.

The City’s Community Development director, Kim Flick, told council, those stores will be ordered to close, and be subject to one thousand dollar a day fines, if they stay open.

“If they do not agree to close, in addition to the fine, we will seek an injunction to force their closure,” says Flick.
