Racial Vandalism In Enderby

May 11, 2018 | 6:47 AM

RCMP have been called in after graffiti was sprayed on a mural at the Enderby skateboard park.

The mural was recently added to the park in honour of missing and indigenous women.

Part of it read : ” No More Stolen Sisters.”

In a joint statement, Splatsin First Nation Chief Wayne Christian and Enderby Mayor Greg McCune condemn the vandalism.

Chief Christian says: “This is unacceptable racial defacing. We will not tolerate racial discrimination.”

The Mayor added “This racial behaviour and vandalism is unacceptable and will not be allowed in our community..”

He says the City of Enderby will continue to work in partnership with Splatsin to make it  clear that racism will not be condoned.
