Bail Hearing Delayed For Arson Suspect

May 10, 2018 | 12:00 PM

A woman accused of starting several fires in Armstrong remains in custody, still waiting for a bail hearing.

60 year old Colette Leneveu of Armstrong is charged with four counts of arson in relation to inhabited property.

She’s been in custody since her arrest March after fires on Okanagan Street where tires were lit near a garage, and near the back deck of a home.

Police allege she also tried to light two vehicles on fire the same night

Leneveu will be back in court Monday, as judge waits for a report evaluating her mental health to be completed.

“It would not be fruitful to proceed without that report,” said Glenn Verdurmen, lawyer for Leneveu to provincial court judge Jeremy Guild.
