Homes Put On Evacuation Alert

Some residents of Parker Cove on the Okanagan Indian Band have been put on evacuation alert due to potential flooding.

The band’s emergency operations centre says the alert covers 41 homes on Falcon Avenue.

“Due to imminent breech of Whiteman Creek, will begin flooding 41 homes located 10-15 metres from the creek’s edge,” says a release from the centre.

The notice means the residents have to be ready to leave on short notice.

The band is urging the residents to be prepared.
