Vernon Leading Way In Rink Safety

Users of Vernon’s arenas can be assured of safety when it comes to the use of ammonia in the facilities’ ice plants.

Director of Recreation Services Doug Ross says their rinks — and other around BC — have been undergoing audits by safety agencies like Worksafe BC.

He says Vernon is being viewed as a leader in the field, and ahead of the curve on the initiatives being called for.

“Just things about making sure that regular testing is being done, and that staff and the public are safe,” says Ross.
