Woman Of Year Award On Hold

There won’t be a Woman of the Year award in Vernon this year.

The group Vernon Women In Business has decided not to host the event this year, but President Melody Martin says it may return next year in a new and refreshed format.

“This year we are celebrating the Jan White Award at the next luncheon (May 9), which does not involve any sponsors, but is a trophy celebrating contributions to Vernon Women in Business,” Martin tells Beach Radio News.

The Woman of the Year award has been handed out for many years, recognizing community, family, and professional achievements.
