New Search Planned For North Okanagan Missing Women

Apr 25, 2018 | 6:34 AM

A search is being planned for this summer to look for several missing women in the North Okanagan-Shuswap.

Caitlin Potts, Ashley Simpson, Deanna Wertz and Nicole Bell have all disappeared over the last two years.

Missing women’s advocate Jody Leon says an event to raise money for drone searching equipment will be held this weekend in Enderby.

“We’d like to get some additional equipment to help make the team more effective, as well as to continue to help and assist the families to come. We’re planning a  big search where we’re gong to bring the four families together,” Leon tells Beach Radio News.

A silent auction and bake sale will be held at the Splatsin Community Centre on Old Vernon Road Saturday from noon to 6 pm Saturday, where people can also sign-up to help with the search.

“We have been in communication with three of the families, and the plan is to start the search with all the families together, and do multiple person searches for the women that remain missing in the area, “adds Leon.
