The “Gift-A-Metre” fundraising campaign is back as efforts continue to raise more money for the Okanagan Rail Trail.

Certificates designed like shares in an old railway, are available to personalize for each gift, that is donations to cover a metre or less towards finishing the trail.

Phil Lambert, owner of the Bean Scene Coffee House in Vernon, is hosting the effort.

His “Rail Trail Tuesdays”, selling coffee, cookies, and other items to support rail trail development, has raised 32 hundred dollars since June.

Trail Ambassadors will be at the Bean Scene to take donations and provide gift certificates from this Friday, November 18th and next Friday, November  25th, plus Tuesday November  21st  mornings from 8 am to 11 am.

Lambert says he’d like to see the rail trail display at the Bean Scene covered with names of donors by Christmas.

Donations can also be made online at: okanaganrailtrail.ca.

Gift certificates can be downloaded once the donation is made.

Donations can be made by credit card, paypal or debit online at: https://okanaganrailtrail.ca/donate.

Donations by cheque can be sent to either of the community foundations listed below.

A gift of securities (stocks or bonds) can also be arranged with the foundations.

All donations greater than $25 will receive a tax receipt.
