Online fundraiser going in support of local man who’s vehicle was destroyed

Oct 19, 2026 | 3:21 PM

A GoFundMe has been launched to help a man who lost his vehicle in a fire.

The online fundraiser said Dean was driving on the highway when a vehicle in front of him swerved to avoid hitting a toolbox that had fallen into the road.

Dean was unable to avoid hitting the toolbox, which punctured the fuel line and caused the vehicle to catch fire.

The man was able to escape the vehicle before it was fully engulfed in flames and exploded, and was uninjured in the incident.

However, he did lose the vehicle and everything inside it, including the work tools he had accumulated over the years.

“Although Dean will receive some compensation from his vehicle insurance, it will fall far short of covering his losses,” the GoFundMe stated.

“Unfortunately, his insurance will not cover the work tools, his phone or any belongings that were destroyed in the fire. To make matters worse, Dean had recently invested approximately $3,000 into his vehicle, money he will never recover.

The financial impact of losing his vehicle, his tools, and that recent investment is overwhelming. We’re hoping to raise some funds to help Dean replace his essential tools, find reliable transportation, and begin rebuilding after this unexpected loss.”

As of time of publication nearly $2,000 had been donated to support Dean.
