Water Quality Advisory lifted for Kal Lake

After two weeks, the precautionary Water Quality Advisory for Kalamalka Lake has been lifted.

Greater Vernon Water issued the advisory Aug. 14 after testing found increased turbidity, or particulate matter, levels in the lake water.

GVW said testing found the levels had returned to normal and the advisory was lifted Friday.

Treatment was ongoing and all bacterial results and disinfection levels within the sysetem were within the safe drinking standard.
