Kelowna waterparks reduce hours under Stage 2 restrictions

Aug 18, 2026 | 3:00 PM

Three Kelowna waterparks are cutting their daily operating hours as the city works to reduce water use during Stage 2 restrictions.

Starting immediately, City Park Waterpark, Quilchena Splash Park and Ben Lee Waterpark will operate from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The city says it is targeting a 20 per cent reduction in outdoor water use across its operations. While some high-use areas, including sports fields, may continue to receive near-normal irrigation, other public spaces will see deeper reductions.

Parks account for less than three per cent of Kelowna’s overall water consumption, while outdoor residential watering makes up more than 25 per cent.
