Large grass fire at north end of Okanagan Lake prompts Evacuation Alerts

The Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) says an active grass fire is being actioned and monitored in the Blacktown area, which is at the northern end of Okanagan Lake.

It was estimated at 100 hectares in size by BC Wildfire Service.

Update as of 5:30am, Saturday Evacuation Alerts were issued for:

  • Properties along Bonneau Road
  • Properties along Pebble Park Lane
  • Properties along Louis Road
  • Properties along any roads north of Westside Road between Bonneau Road and Komasket Road
