It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diane LaChance, a beloved mother, nana, entrepreneur, and friend. Diane passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and compassion that touched countless lives. Born on April 4, 1944, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Diane lived a life filled with purpose, friendship, and service to others. She was the proud mother of Cathy LaChance and Jason LaChance and a devoted Nana to Faith Tylor and Conrad, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
Diane was a respected entrepreneur in Vernon, BC, where she owned and operated several successful businesses over the years. She was best known as the owner of Encore, a women’s consignment clothing store that became a beloved fixture in the community. Through her businesses, Diane built lasting relationships and created a welcoming place where everyone felt valued and appreciated. One of Diane’s greatest joys was her involvement with her Sorority. For more than 50 years, she was a proud and active member, forming lifelong friendships with her sorority sisters. The bonds she shared through Beta Sigma Phi were among the most treasured relationships of her life. She valued the fellowship, service, and lifelong connections that the organization provided and remained devoted to its ideals throughout her life.
Diane leaves behind her children, Cathy and Jason; her cherished grandchildren, Faith Tylor and Conrad; her extended family and many friends; and a community that was enriched by her presence. While words cannot fully express the impact she had on those around her, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on August 15th, 2026 at the Trinity United Church 3300 Alexis Park Dr, Vernon, BC.
