Mobi-Mat installed at Kin Beach

Vernon’s beach on Okanagan lake has become more accessible.

The city installed the mobility mat at Kin Beach, providing a stable, non-slip surface that extends across the sand toward the water.

The mat allows people with wheelchairs, mobility aids, strollers and other mobility equipment to access the beach and lake.

The Mobi-Mat was purchased in 2025 and first installed at the beach that September, but was put away for the fall, winter, and spring.
