Coldstream seeking funds to help with accessibility improvements

Mar 26, 2026 | 12:46 PM

Coldstream will be looking for some outside funding to support its work to make local amenities more accessible.

The district has plans to improve access for people with disabilities to Kalamalka Beach by improving accessible parking near the mobility mats at the beach.

The municipality also wants to purchase and install wheelchair accessible picnic tables at Kal Beach, Kirkland Beach and Creekside Park.

To help fund this work, Coldstream will apply for a grant of up to $25,000 from the province, and district council directed staff to apply for that grant at the regular meeting Monday, March 23.
