Spallumcheen 125 Celebration
Spallumcheen is holding a special celebration today.
The community of five thousand residents is holding a free family event to commemorate the township’s 125th anniversary.
The event is from 4:30 to 6:30 at the Township office at 4144 Spallumcheen Way.
“There will be cake, a 5 cent general store run by the PVSS Grads of 2018, historical display by the Armstrong Spallumcheen Museum, free draws and samples from the new owners of the Log Barn”, says Councillor Christine Fraser. “The Council will be dressed in historical costumes, should be a really fun way of commemorating the Township’s birthday.”
Mayor Janice Brown will give a brief speech as a prelude to the celebratory birthday cake cutting.
Spallumcheen was officially incorporated July 21, 1892.
