Three people arrested in break and enter near Westwold

Police were able to track down suspects in a rural break and enter.

At around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, police received a report of a break and enter in progress at a residence on Douglas Lake Road.

The property owner reportedly received an alert from their security system, then checked video surveillance which showed two people hop a fence, cut a lock, and enter a building on the property.

The homeowner provided police with descriptions of the suspects as well as the vehicle they were travelling in, and later in the day, a B.C. Highway Patrol officer spotted and stopped the suspect vehicle.

The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested, though later released pending further investigation.

Stolen property was also located in the vehicle, and police said the items had been returned to their rightful owner.
