Dozens displaced in morning apartment fire

Residents of an apartment building in South Vernon had to evacuate their homes due to a fire Wednesday morning.
Vernon Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) Chief David Lind said a fire broke out at in a unit at the Parkview Garden Apartments on 36th Street around 6 a.m. March 25.
The fire appeared to have started in one unit and then spread to several others.
VFRS responded and knocked down the main blaze, but crews remained on site extinguishing hot spots as of 8:30 a.m.
