Parks Close As Fire Number Grow

The BC Wildfire Service says the number of wildfires burning in bc now is 230.

Ninety-seven new fires started on Saturday.

Fires near Cache Creek, Princeton, Ashcroft and the 100 Mile House area as well as smaller sections of the Cariboo have forced thousands from their homes.

Several structures have been destroyed, including 30 homes in a mobile home park in the Boston Flats area near Cache Creek.

Now BC Parks has closed Wells Gray Provincial Park as well as several other parks and protected areas in the Chilcotin and Cariboo as a precaution.
