Highway 1 closing for avalanche control work

The main highway connecting B.C. and Alberta will be closed for avalanche control over the coming days.

DriveBC reported Highway 1 will be closed between Revelstoke and Golden for the work starting at 2 p.m. PST Tuesday, March 17.

The next update on the closure will be posted Thursday, indicating the highway will be closed for two days.

Motorists were warned that detours would not be available and travellers were advised to find alternate routes around the closure.
