One person arrested but released in connection to alleged horse assault

The suspect in the alleged horse assault case in rural Vernon was apprehended but later released.
At around 1 a.m. Saturday, January 24, a man allegedly entered an animal enclosure on a property in the BX area and assaulted a horse.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, but was later identified after investigators reviewed security camera footage from the property.
Vernon North Okanagan RCMP told Vernon Matters in an email Tuesday, Jan. 27, that “an arrest has been made in connection with the incident and the person has been released from custody pending further investigation.”
